On 15th to 17th January the secondary two pupils of Holy Innocent’s High School attended an ECG and study skills workshop to build confident and improve communication skills. The workshop was fun and interesting ,we were taught many different things to build confidents and make fast decisions.
“My favourite highlight of the workshop was learning about the six thinking hats!”,Damien Chew from class 2Love exclaimed. “ It was a really fun experience learning about the thinking hats. The trainer also showed us us a funny video to help us understand about the hats.”
We did not expect the trainer to be funny and we also did’nt think there will be games we can take part in.we thought that the workshop was going to be boring.the trainer was very kind and we played many different games, one of the games we played require us to build a box to prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from a high distance. that was the best game we played during our workshop.
“It was very meaningful because students can learn and apply soft skills like communicating with others,so that they can use it during group work project and even in the future when they go to work in this 21st century.this way students will be employer centric to secure high value skills and jobs.”Said Mr Singh form teacher of class 2Love.
Ethen quips that”I would really like a workshop like this next year I think it would be useful for us in the future.”Many of our friends also agree with Ethan.

Teacher and students of Holy Innocents’ High School(HIHS) commemorate Total Defence Day and why we should not take our Defence for granted.
Total Defence day was celebrated every year on 15 February.Total Defence (or TD) is the name of Singapore’s comprehensive defence strategy. It is based on the understanding that besides military action, aggressors can also attack the country by wrecking its economic system.Tearing its social fabric a part, targeting Singaporean’s beliefs and commitment to defence, and its ability to recover from disaster both natural and man-made. Total Defence encompass six key pillars-military civil economic, social, psychological and digital defence-and focuses on the need for each Singaporean to play his or her part to keep the country strong.
Usually in HIHS we celebrate Total Defence Day by seeing the Uniform Group marching and lesson about why we celebrate Total Defence Day and why we should not take our military

A student form HIHS, Xavier Ong, said:“ We should not take and advantage of our Defence, and always be ready for an attack.”
In HIHS, all Uniform group (or UG) would march in the parade square. Qiang Lei, A student from HIHS said he have learned a lot of things from the lessons given from the school. Example he remarked he have to listen to an alarm that will be sounding on 15 February 6.20p.m.
An English teacher from HIHS, Mr Singh said:“ We should never take out Defence?whether be it psychological, emotional or military defence for granted. This is to safeguard our country sovereignty and racial and religious harmony. In addition, students, from a young age, should be instilled from a young age so they would be prepared for life.”
By interviewing the people I can tell that Total Defence Day is a very important the as we need to remember the day our forefather been through.

“Whizzzz…Bang!” As the sound of the cracking fireworks can be heard from miles away. The students of Holy Innocent High School (HIHS) are busy decorating the classroom with red packets that are folded into a shape of a rot. The student are also preparing pineapple tarts and other goodies to give the elderly.
Special events such as Lion dances, Face Changing and Hamper making, makes this year, Chinese New Year even more facinating compared to the previous years in HIHS.
“I loved the face changing performance because he was absolutely well trained in his hand gestures that accompanied the performance. Furthermore, he actually interacted with the students and teachers by giving them highfives. In addition, the rest of the concert performances like wushu, were captiving and interesting,” exclaimed Mr Singh, form teacher of 2 Love.
As a yearly tradition, elderies from Lion Befriended will join us in our Chinese New Year celebration. Wanting to give back to our society, we decided to bake some pineapple tarts, during our food and consumer lesson, to give to the elderies.
According to Arucha from 2 Love, “it was a fun learning experience as i have never baked pineapple tarts before.” Arucha also added that witnessing the smiles on the elderlies faces made him want to bake more pineapple tarts for his families and friends every Chinese New Year.

Many students and teachers agreed that this year Chinese New Year celebration was extraordinary as they got to experience so many unique and eye-catching performances and activities, instead of watching the usual common performances. We hope that next year would be even greater.

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.
You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
